Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

uninsured motorist

i got into an accident about a month ago and on the police report, it says that it's the other party's fault. i just found out that the guy did not have a valid insurance at the time of the accident. can i sue him for this?

You can sue for the damages. However, if you were injured then your insurance should have uninsured motorist coverage. this coverage will pay for your damages resulting from your injuries.
