Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
VC 2800 (a) Misdemeanor
I got a misdemeanor citation under VC 2800 (a) which is failure to obey police officer. I by mistake entered into a police activity zone just 200 ft from my driveway because the way cones were setup was very confusing and the cop who cited me had no flashing lights or siren on in his car. What can happen now if judge finds me guilty. How much the fine will be and how long it will stay in my record?

Your best approach is to retain an attorney to represent you. However, if you wish to represent yourself, get a copy of the Nolo Press book How to Fight Your Traffic Ticket and read about the defenses available.
