Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
will I go to jail for a "VC23103(A)?" i went 50mph in a 30mph zone and every site online is telling me to hire a lawyer. I went to the court today to attempt to make a payment but I have a courtdate set. Just wondering If I do need to hire a lawyer for this or not? And Will I serve jailtime for going 50 in a 30? Thanks.

They're not charging you with a traffic infraction where you can just pay the fine - they're charging you with misdemeanor reckless driving. That's a charge that carries potential jail time and/or a fine. Realistically - jail doesn't seem a likely sentence, but it depends on the facts and your previous driving and criminal record (if any).
Your court date is your arraignment - either you or an attorney on your behalf must show up or it just compounds the problem and adds another misdemeanor charge for failure to appear.
