Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Is it acceptable in the eyes of the court to allow a person who lives within the state of oregon - scratch out the word "Oregon" and write in the word "California" on a document supplied by the notary public? The title of the document is "California All-Purpose Document" and was used to change the deed to a house - her verification of signature.
