Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Accounting of expidentures and copy of will
My mother had a living trust with my sister as executrix and gave her power of attorney. Before her death she had a stroke and was put in a nursing home for several years at which time my sister sold and distributed her house and personal belongings. Some of the items, rare antiques, which were known to go to my brother she claimed became broken and others she just did not give to him. My brother and I now wonder where much of her money went as things didn't seem quite right when she distributed the remainder of estate. She claims it went for her care, etc. while she was in nursing home. She is also still holding several thousand dollars from each of us for three years now. How can we get a copy of the will and the accounting of expidentures and does she have to provide proof of expenditures and if not what recourse do we have?

Re: Accounting of expidentures and copy of will
It appears that you need an attorney to demand the items and demand an accounting. If this fails legal action would be necessary.
