Adding wife as co owner of house

How does my husband add me on

as co owner of his existing house.

Assuming that you are a US citizen (there are potentially onerous gift tax issues if you aren't), he signs an "Interspousal Grant Deed" in which he indicates that he, as sole owner of the property, grants to the two of you as husband and wife, either as community property or as joint tenants or as tenants in common or as "community property with rights of survivorship". There are various legal issues involved in which choice you/he make that should be discussed before he signs the deed. The deed is then notarized and recorded in the county in which the property is located.
