Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Administrator

I don't want to be administrator of my mother's estate any more, can my younger sister be the administrator? What forms need to be filled out to cange it?

Thank You, Deedee1262

Re: Administrator

Do you have an attorney? Your attorney could help you. How large is the estate? There is a lot involved in administering a probate. You may wish to obtain the services of a probate attorney to help you wade through all the paperwork.

Attorney fees are established by statute, are paid from the estate, and only with approval of the probate court. In other words, there are no "up front fees."

Let me know if you would like to discuss this further. Otherwise, you will need to petition the court for change of administrator.
