Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Adoption or Reclaiming of family surname
I allowed my son to be adopted at a very young age by my ex-wife's new husband. It is an act I have regretted every day of my life since. He is now 26 and we have established a wonderful relationship. He wants to go back to his original surname (my last name). Two things- can I legally adopt my son back again if he is an adult and without notifying the adoptive father(he has since divorced my ex-wife)? If not, how does my son go about legally changing his last name back to mine? Many thanks.

I dont know off hand about adopting him but he can file a simple petition to change his name.
