FHA inspector filed mechanics lien on house during escrow, cause lender did not pay in timely manner, now we received lawsuit paperwork,mwhat do we do?

You must defend against the lawsuit.
You should speak with a lawyer to determine the best way to proceed, and whether you can cross-claim against the lender.

First of all, this is not a probate question. This question should have been posted in the category for real estate.
You need to talk to an attorney. Many attorneys would probably want to see all of the relevant paperwork, and probably settle with the FHA inspector and then sue the bank. Banks are doing all kinds of sloppy work during foreclosure and REO transactions, and they need to be held accountable.
