Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

hi i am the one who asked about contesting the will left to grandaughter thanks to the people who answered it.i have a greater problem now first my mother has not died yet, she was going to change her will because just recently the grandaughter beat her up badly she didnt call the police for fear retalation. recently my mom got real sick so i moved in with her to take care of her she is 84 she had an appointment with her attorney to change will and also take gd off being in charge of her medical situation,a while backshe gave gd power of attorney of her medical just wed.my mom went back in the hospital in bad condition the gd got the doctor to sign paper my mom was not capable of making desisions gd went to attorney got power of attorney over her complete affairs.she had hospital tell me i could not see mom and kicked me out of house threatening to call police for me tresspassing this is horrible the abuserr has control i dont have much money but desperately need some advice please people what if this was your MOM THANKS.

At a minimum you should call ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES to report this abuse.

I think Mr. Selik gives some great advice.

I would then say that you might consider filing for conservatorship so as to obtain the power to care for your mother in this time of need.

You need to not waste another minute on the internet and go see a lawyer in person. You are NOT going to get adequate help here, or from APS.

As Mr. McCormick has said, there is no time to waste. You need to make an appointment with an elder law attorney immediately. The situation you have described involves serious elder abuse. I disagree that Adult Proctective services will not help you. Because your mother has been physically abused by her granddaughter, you should also contact Adult Protective Services.
