Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
I am asset investigating a debtor of a judgment in CA. How can I find a Trust that the debtor may have set up (Family Trust)? I have asked the courts and they would only have records if there was a dispute. Do Attorneys record these? Thank you Chris

Personally serve the judgment debtor with a notice of a judgment debtor examination and a demand for production of documents. Bring a court reporter so there is a record. Ask questions about the existence and location of assets, trusts, trustees, etc. Get help from an attorney.
Mr. Stone is right. To answer your question, some trust instruments are recorded, and some are not. One of the benefits of a trust is that it does not have to be made public unless it is recorded or results in litigation.
