Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Can attorneys talk without permission?
Mom's first elder law attorney resigned citing conflict of interest. I believe she was giving me bad advice and when I questioned her she just resigned. We hired a new attorney and after the initial consultation we discovered she called Mom's first attorney and was given specifics about our issues. She has been quite rude with us after we retained her. Was it appropriate for our new attorney to call Mom's first attorney and get specifics before we retained her? Hope this makes some sense. Thank you

The first attorney should not have revealed any confidential information without you waiving it. If you do not like this second attorney try a third. But if everyone you try is not satisfactory, it is more likely you are the problem than the are.
