Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Beneficiary in a Living Trust

I am a caregiver and my former client put me in his Living Trust this last summer. He gave me his mobile home and all of the contents. Unfortunately he just recently passed away and I have a feeling his family will try to take the home away from me if at all possible. They have already taken several items out of the home that I was suppose to inherit. What should I do, if anything, to protect myself? Also, his executor hired another attorney, not the one who wrote up the will, to handle this situation. Thanks for any guidance.

Re: Beneficiary in a Living Trust

Unless the decedent obtained a Certificate of Independent Review, you may be disqualifed from receiving the gifts from his trust. You should consult with an attorney who practices trust and estate litigation.

Please contact my office if you would like to schedule a free consultation.
