Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
My brother and I share 1/3 of a house in lakewood and share full ownership of a cabin in big bear. These properties were recently inheritated. He wants to trade me his 1/6 share of the lakewood house for my 1/2 of the cabin in Big Bear, which I agree to do. How do we make this happen?

You would want to draft and execute an agreement between both of you and then execute quitclaim deeds to transfer the property to the appropriate shares. An attorney can help you. The charge should not be more than about $400.00 to review the documents and draft and file the new documents. The filing fees run $30-40.00 per property.
