Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Cal Wills

hi

i'm doing a single w/no children Last Will & Testament, that i downloaded from the internet

my question is: if i do not have any witness signatures, is the Will still legal, and what are the consequences ?

do i have any other options ?

lastly, would it be more advantageous to just do a Holographic Will

thx

Re: Cal Wills

A will in California requires 2 signatures of witnesses who saw you sign the document. They do not necessarily need to be someone you know, but they should watch you sign and have their name and address whowing.

Regarding holographic wills, they are OK, but if any one contests, there can be many expenses based upon expert witnesses as to whether or not it is your real signature.
