In California, is there a law that requires you to leave anything to your children in your will?

There is no law in california that requires you to will any property to your children. However if you decide to intentionally omit your children in your will, then they will receive nothing. However the language should be clear in the will because depending on when the child was born during the execution of the will, the court could hold that the child is owed equal to a share that the child would have receive had the will not existed. CALIFORNIA PROBATE CODE SECTION 21620-21623
