California-My Husband died intestate,less than 3000 in separate property-can his ex claim an 8000$ debt
in back child support against me,debt incurred before my marriage-house and cars in my name.

She can collect the back support from the $3000 separate property AND his half of the community property. You get to keep your separate property, and his half of the community property less what is taken to satisfy his debts.
