Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

How do I cash several small checks that are made out to my deceased mother. I am the executor and sole beneficiary of her estate. We have a joint bank account, trust and will. This is a non probate case. State is California. Thanks

Go to the bank that has your account, show them the Will naming you as executor and sole heir, ask that the checks be deposited into your mother's account without her signature or you signing for her, put it into the joint account, all money in the joint account can be withdrawn by you as account sharer.

You can write the word "for deposit only" and deposit it into the joint account. If the bank gives you problems, and your mother left a significant amount of property, you may need to open a probate.
