Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Name Change on Existing Wills
I have recently married and both of my parents and myself have wills with my maiden name. Is there a form that you can attach to the wills that make it easy or do you have to start all over? I know you can eventually prove the name change but we all would like to avoid time delays when one of us passes away. I live in AZ they both live in CA.

Re: Name Change on Existing Wills
There is no need to change the wills. There is no particular delay that will occur while you show that you are the person designated in the particular will. You could put together the chain of names with whatever proof might be required, or you could simply wait, and when the need arises to make a change in one or more of the Wills, then put in the current names, accordingly.
