Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I am an only child. My father died in CA and his widow did not notify me. I found out weeks later, AFTER the funeral. Is the widow required to sign any document during the 'after death' process that asks her to confirm that all other next of kin or living children have been notified? Or are there any CA statutes that specifically require her (or any trustee/executor) to notify the living children??

No California statute requires that the surviving spouse notify the living children or other survivors of the passing of the deceased spouse. There are certain circumstances, e.g., the opening of a probate or the conversion of a living trust into an irrevocable one, however, where notice is required.
