Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Children of a beneficiary named in a trust estate.

In his trust agreement, my father left equal shares of his estate to all my family. It consisted of shares in a family corporation. One of the articles states that if I were to have more children, that they would also participate as equal beneficiaries with the provisions modified accordingly. That was 15 years ago. Another article states the ''trust terminates upon distribution of the trust estate as provided above''. I have one additional child now who is adopted. Is he entitled to share in the corp?

In a general sense, an adopted child is your lawful child with all rights associated therewith.

For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced lawyer and have the trust document reviewed. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
