compensation

We have been taking care of my husband's mom's affairs/weekend caregiving for years she has Alzheimer&bi-polar)Myhusband has lost several thousands taking time off to attend to affairs, losing a job because of it and having to take pay cut to be close to her (we are 60 miles away. Are we entitiled to compensation? He has been successor trustee since 2006

this depends upon the language of the trust agreement. usually the trustee is entitled to "reasonable compensation" plus reimbursement for expenses of the trust paid by the trustee. the trustee should retain a qualified attorney to provide advice with regard to this and other duties and responsibilities as fiduciary.
