Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Very complicated situation, I'll try to be thorough & brief. Grandmother passed in 2008. She had, in total, approx $370,000 in property/annuities, etc. and left specific instructions as to who received what percentage and recommended the 2 annuities remain in their accounts until 2014 - if anybody challenged or changed that, they would be disinherited. At her passing, I was estranged from my family. I was a beneficiary-family took it upon themselves to change Grandmothers will, cashed everything out except for a townhouse (in 08 worth $139,000 in Colo.) & managed to take my portion as well. One sister bought a house another paid for her child college mother bought a Cadillac & step father gambled rest away. Can I file a lien on the townhouse?

Did your grandmother live in Colorado at the time of her death? Was her estate administered in Colorado? If so, you need to contact an attorney in Colorado. If not and the estate is being administered in California, you need to meet with an attorney about filing a petition in probate court.

I agree with Ms. Rouse. I'd further add that you don't file a lien on real property in your situation without a lawsuit.

I would add, you need a probate attorney who specializes in probate litigation immediately, and consider filing against all of the individucals, who may have embezzled assets from the estate, for recovery.
