If you are a co-trustee of a decedents trust, do you need

a letter of testamentary??

No, but you may need help in the administration of the trust. It is not all that simple. If there was any property that was not properly funded to the trust, there may be a need for probate.

That letter is only for a Will or probate of an estate; a Trust is a specific documents that gives instructions as to whatis to be done as to assets whose title has been placed in a Trust. They are two entirely separate proceedings.
