Re: credit card debt of deceased
Usually, the deceased person's estate is responsible for the debts, unless other circumastances exist. From your brief description, I can not answer if any of these do, in fact, exist.
If you inform the credit card comapanies of the person's passing (and most likely send a certified death certificate) they will understand the situation and you can move forward from that point.

Usually, the adult child is not responsible for a parent's credit card debt. However, if your name is also on the credit card, and you charged the card to purchase your own things, the credit card company might go after you.
