credit card debt

my stepmom died and there was a family trust in place at the time. she left behind $40,000 in credit card debt. she had her house on a reverse mortgage, and after it's sold, there will only be about $5000. what do we do about the credit cards?

Send them copies of the death certificate and request they write off the accounts.
