Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My dad recently passed away. A couple of months before he died he told me about a trust and was concerned because he had used my married name and my id was still my maiden.vhe wanted to make sure I could get it. Now that he's dead my stepmom says everything is hers and the trusts are set up to go to her daughter if something happens to her and she would disperse the trusts to us. I know my dad didn't do that.

Have you asked for a copy of the trust? Without knowing more, it is difficult to know what your stepmother could or could do.
