If I am an adult, am I responsible for my mother's credit card debt after she passes away?

No. The debt died with your mother.

Re: Debt of my deceased mother

You are not responsible for it. Her estate (assets) would have to be used for it, up to the amount of assets in the estate.

If her estate doesn't have enough money to completely pay them off, I'd recommend seeing an attorney, as there's an order of priority in paying off the debts. Also, some things are often exempt from creditors, like joint tenancy property, some retirement plans, life insurance proceeds and government benefits.
