decedent has trust and pourover will under California law; left real property in Italy; does Italy recognize trusts as beneficiary of estate

yes, some foreign trusts are recognized under italian law. however, the legal title to the property must also have been changed to the trust. you should retail a qualified attorney to provide advice and assistance with the will, trust administration and any probate court petition which may be required.
