If a disclaimer is not signed infront of notery is it a legal document?

The notary does not have to witness the actual signing to notarize a document. A lot of notaries think they do and will not notarize a document already signed but they actually are not saying they are a witness to the physical act of signing. Rather they are essentially just verifying that the person who says they signed the document is that person.
