Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Disclosure of Accounts/Monies to beneficiaries on a Trust

I would like to know if the trustee of my mothers estate has to disclose all accounts that my mother had? Even if these accounts were in my mothers name only. I was told by the trustee that she only has to account for the accounts under the trust name only. This is a irrovocable trust, if that is any help. Thank you.

Generally she is correct. However, trustees are often given roles as attorneys-in-fact and also, trusts are often written with pour-over wills that might convert outside accounts into trust assets. Ask her if she at least can identify the non-trust accounts and consider conducting your own investigation.
