Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Dispensation of Estate

We are in the final stages of probate for my father's estate. His will stated house was to go to his mother if she out lived him by 30 days. She did. But she has now passed away and her only heir is my aunt who is disabled. Do we have to pay the estate of my grandmother or can we bypass that and just pay my aunt?
