Effect of Notarization upon a will in CA...
What is the impact of a ''notarization'' of a will? and, Is it legal for a layperson to assist another in preparing a will (pre-formatted) or to prepare if or them?

notorization is not necessary for a willl but i am curious as to why you are asking the question, do you really want to know techacalities of preparation for a will for yourself or are you questioning someone eleses will -- either way you should see an attorney who is expert in estate planning and give him/her all, i mean all of the facts and you will get a complete and correct answer -- your question is too amorphous to answer the real question you are asking in my opinion

Wills do not need to be notarized, but notarization does provide evidence of the the identity of who is signing the will. Technically, a layperson cannot assist because this would technically be the unauthorized practice of law. You can download a free statutory will from the website for the California State Bar.
