Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Entitlement Rights

Recently my father died. He had a trust that excluded two out of four of his children from getting anything that he owned. Do the other two children (ages:20 & 21) have the right to be entitled to a fourth of what he had. Also, the only thing that he owned was a home and it is on the market. Do I have to take legal actions before it is sold, or can it be handled afterward? Thanks.
