Who gets paid first: creditors, beneficiaries or executors?

In most probate cases, the executor/attorney is paid first (and other costs of administration), then creditors and then beneficiaries. Creditors may be excluded from collecting against a decedent's non-probate property, like joint tenancy assets and life insurance.
