After an estate is in probate...is there a law saying it has to be sold as soon as possible? (If all taxes and bills were already paid)

There is no legal requirement that anything be sold; unfortunately, as with divorces, most adminstrators feel it is easier to sell off the property if the two or more heirs do not readily agree. The administrator is supposed to resolve the estate as soon as reasonable,, but there is not anything forcing that to happen.

No, unless the Will says so.
