Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
The executor of the estate I am sole beneficiary of has cut off ALL contact with me. No explanation given. Can he legally do this?

Up to a point, yes, as long as he or she is properly fulfilling their obligations as executor. If not or if you cannot tell, you can get a court order in the probate for a report and accounting. If there is no probate open, you can open a probate yourself and ask that you be appointed executor in stead of the named person.
What the executor has done is not normal and you have every reason to be concerned. If you don't want to get your own lawyer, I would suggest sending him and his lawyer a certified letter demanding a response and if you don't get one I would strongly consider going to Court. Good Luck.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The above response is not intended to, and does not, create an attorney-client, fiduciary or other confidential relationship with the responder. Neither does it constitute the providing of legal advice or services or the giving of a legal opinion by the responder. Such a relationship can only be created, and legal advice and/or legal services provided, pursuant to a written agreement with the responder. Accordingly, no obligations of any kind are assumed with respect to any matter or question presented. It should also be noted that legal issues are often time sensitive and legal rights may be lost or compromised if you do not act in a timely fashion.
