Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

executor fee

What is 'typical' executor's fee. This would be a fee charged by a private executor and not a bank. Thank you

Re: executor fee

I think you are confused. An Executor is appointed by the court to administer an estate distributed according to a valid will. Their fees are statutory for the most part and based upon percentages of the size of the estate. Banks do not serve as executors. I assume you mean Trustee. Banks are not permitted to serve as Trustees. Some banks have wholly owned Trust Companies or Trust Departments that operationally must be separate from the banking operations. They also charge mostly based upon the size of the estate, and some have a list of fees for various services.
