Executor of a Will

I am the executor of my fathers will. My father is deceased and I would like to appoint my brother as a successor. Can I do this?

If your father named a second executor, that person is next in line. If both of you decline to act and your brother is the only other child of your father, he will be next in line.

It also may depend on if a Probate is required, pending or completed. If there was only a will, then you may need to start one.
