Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Co Executors

I would like to know if having 2 co-executors for a trust is a common practice and if it is practical? Do both Trustees have to sign off on checks from the Trust or anything else that requires signatures?

Also, in a Special Needs Trust, does the inheritance held in the Trust have any affect on Public Assistance for the person the Trust is set up for ie: social security benefits, medicaide or low income housing?

Thank you,

Charlie Welch

Re: Co Executors

this depends upon the wording of the trust. a special needs trust must also be properly drafted to shield assets from public assistance programs.

you should consult a qualified attorney for definitive and reliable advice.
