executor-s of estate not liquidating assets

my grandfather in calif died 4 yrs ago. he named my mother & sister as executor & co exect of his will. the two of them now live in his home and refuse to sell the property or make any accomodations for compensating me for my portion of the proceeds of the estate (est. 30,000.00) i live in arizona. what can i do to get my inheritance ? i need the money and have a little to spend on a lawyer, but don't know what my rights are. i was told by mom's probate lawyer that there is nothing i can do to get my money. that can't be right. how can the executor(s) get away with taking advantage of the situation ?

Someone would have to review the will and probate papers, but I suspect your mother's lawyer isn't completely right, unless the will specified the money be kept in trust or otherwise unaccessible. Check with a California attorney who can review the papers and advise you of your options.

It is difficult to give you a valid answer without actually reviewing the will and other documents.

If the executor was instructed by the will to distribute the assets, but has failed to do so, you can take legal action to protect your rights.
