Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
executor's limitations
One of my siblings was appointed executor of my mothers estate. A home was left to us. After probate has been settled, can both our names be listed as owners of the property equally or is the property entitled to be in the name of the executor?

The home should be transfered through probate to the the beneficiaries through a deed signed by the executor.

The home must be titled in the names of all of the owners, including you. As executor, your sibling has a duty to distribute the estate according to your mother's wishes, including executing the appropriate documents.
