Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
if a family member wants to name me as their durable power of attorney and they prepare a document and date and notarize it,do I have to take the copy they send me without my signature on it or acknowledgement and have it notarized and my signature added for any reason?

No, unless it is a pre-printed form which has a space where the agent has to acknowledge the gravity of the responsibility of acting as someone's agent.

The person giving the power of attorney has to sign it, not the person receiving it.
