Call the cops and report it as a theft. When the probate is filed you can also sue to recover the property
Re: A Family Seeking Help
Your aunt's ex has committed burglary. When they got divorced their assets were divided between them. 35 years later he has no right whatsoever to her assets. I would first call the police and file a report for the stolen property. I would then call the insurance company and report it as stolen so if something does happen and he gets in an accident or you do not recover the car you can file a claim for the car. Since you and your mother are the closest living relatives you are entitled to her assets. Once the estate goes through probate you will be entitled to her assets. This man has no right and should be prosecuted for theft. If you need help in recovering your aunt's things as well as settling her estate, please feel free to contact me at 888-563-8529. The call and the consultation are free. We can speak regarding what needs to happen in order to clear up the estate and the taxs due and selling any property that may be involved. I look forward to hearing from you.
