Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
my father was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and given three to six months to live. he is currently in a nursing home for physically thereapy. he didnt tell anyone he was sick and we noticed that he was not eating and was losing weight. he was also analcoholic. he was told that he would be in the home for 2 weeks to get strong enough to go home with hospice care for the remainder of his life. my mother still lives at home and cares for herself she is of sound mind. i have a sister who refuses to have my dad in the nursing home she has refused many times in the past to have medical procedures done for my parents at their refusal and with me and my brother and other sister refusal. she said she is going to hire an attorney to have my dad removed from the home and taken to her home. she is no way able to care for him she had abandoned my parents twice in the last 4 years while they were ill. this last time was 2 months ago. she left without any telling anyone. does she have the right to do this while my mother is still alive?

You might want to speak with your mother, and determine what's in your father's best interest. If it's the nursing home and your sister is getting in the way, you or your mother can apply to a court to be appointed your father's conservator to make such decisions for him.
