Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Father recently passed away. He was widowed 12 years prior. My mother quick deeded the house and removed his name from the deed in 2001 prior to her death and my father signed the deed.. So the home is still in my mothers name without a Will for etheir parent. So is my father's estate tied to the home ?

Can't be sure without reviewing documents, but it sounds like it is your mother's estate which needs to be adminisered (probated) if the property was in her name.

I agree with Michele. Reviewing counsel will need more facts and the documents. At minumum it is likely a probate of the mothers estate will be required to administer the estate and transfer the assets to the appropriate parties. Their identity will depend on the California intestacy laws and the family tree. See an attorney with expertise in estate administration.
