Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Father-In-Law's drinking causing him to make poor judgement
My mother-in-law passed away in April of this year. Together, she and my father-in-law had established a trust, and had over $400,000 plus two houses in the trust. Since her death a 33 year old woman has been bleading my father-in-law dry. She keeps him drunk most of the time, and we are worried that she may get him drunk and have him sign over power of attorney to her. He is completely out of control. He has called threatening suicide on more than one occassion. Just last night he called at 12:30 in the morning and said that he had the gun next to his head and he wanted to say goodbye. He also attempted to drive drunk, and backed into the neighbors car across the street. We live in Wisconsin, and are not sure what we can do to stop this situation and get this woman out of his life. Now she wants to move in and quit her job to go back to school. He has already gone through at least $120,000, just since April. What can we legally do to stop this woman, and get my father-in-law under control?

you should retain an attorney in the county in which your father lives asap.
