Father's caregivers avoid executor's efforts to obtain receipts for $ spent prio

As Executor I have continually asked for receipts from father's caregivers, nephew and wife, as to how monies were spent prior to father's death. Father had joint cking acct. with his nephew. I have been avoided for 13 months now. I have had father's attorney contact them but still they avoid me. During my father's stay with them, father's nephew wrote 3 $500. checks to his wife, with attorney's name of father in the MEMO section of the checks. Checking with attorney, there is no record of attorney receiving these 3 checks. Father's attorney has been shown copies of 3 checks and is aware that it is questionable as to where the money went. Father was referred to this attorney by same person whom (wife of nephew)the 3 checks were paid to. Wife of nephew has served 2 years in prison for past embezzlement conviction. Three different children of deceased father also did not receive checks written and supposedly sent them via USPS Mail. Not sure if father's attorney is professionally trustworthy. What is my next move?
