Ordinarily when a Probate case is filed notice is required to be given to all heirs at law and all beneficiaries named in the Will, so you should have received notice in the mail. Another way to check is to look on line for the Superior Court for the County where your mother was living when she died and see if a case has been opened without you receiving proper notice somehow.
