That really depends who you are demanding it from? If you are talking about a Probate, then your inheritance is paid pursuant to a Petition for Final Distribution which you should receive notice of. If an Order has been granted and the Executor simply hasn't made the payment, you can go to Court for relief. If you are talking about a distribution from a Trust, then you need to make a demand on the Trustee and if there is no response you might have to go to court to remove the Trustee or compel distribution.
